About UCM ECYP

UCM ECYP is a chapter of the Missouri Association for the Education of Young Children, which is a state affiliate for the National Association for the Education of Young Children. During our inaugural year (2020-2021), this growing group of early childhood education majors from the UCM College of Education, amidst a pandemic, have shown perseverance and problem-solving to initiate and build their organization. This year's officers are:

During the COVID-19 pandemic, early childhood educators were recognized as essential workers. Those of us who have dedicated our career-long service to the early education profession understand that children’s educators have always been essential.

2020-2021 Activities 

Our organization members have been preparing service projects for local Warrensburg elementary schools. They have selected children’s books to record read-alouds and will be donating books and props to Maple Grove Elementary children and teachers. In addition, they are working on a service project for a local early childhood education and care center.
